Blessing in Disguise

Last Thursday when I walked into the office, my boss said do you want the bad news or the good news. I said, Hit me with the bad news. He said I have to go to Brisbane Friday night. I said that's fine and it was good timing cause it was mum's birthday =) So I surprised her. Told my sis I was coming =) You could say this is a blessing from my boss being able to be with family again.

I had to the chance to hang out with Tommy, Sansan and Cadence. Cadence is so cute and had a fun time playing with her. I got to teach her some tricks =P Cadence can be cheeky... She likes pulling your hair. Trust me her pulls hurts. Word of advice when you are near babies tie up your hair. It's a must!

For mum's birthday we went to Morison Hotel for steak. I bought some drinks for the family and it was embarrassing cause the lady asked for my ID. You would think I would be use to it by now =( Steak was really nice =)

Went to Garden City with Tommy, San, Cadence and Milly. Garden City is still the same =) Then we went to this Soy Cafe place across from Sunnybank Plaza =) Nice desserts =)

It was great to visit Brisbane and catch up with family =) When I returned back to Sydney this time round, I know in my heart now that this is the place for me =) Maybe the reason why I don't want to go back to Brisbane yet is I love going to Hillsong Church and love being involved in the church.

Arrived in Sydney around 6pm, got home dropped my baggage and went to central station to catch the bus to church. You would think I would be tired to go out but for some reason I was refreshed =) Maybe because I slept on the flight.

Church was good =) The message was really good too =) I will share with you on another day.

Had to see Heath my team leader to make sure he received my message on Friday cause I felt bad. I bumped into Sharon my team mate and she told me it was only herself and Heath running the show. Poor things as it was communion as well. Pretty much they had to do the running around =(
Had a quick chat with Heath and told him I got back to Sydney at 6pm and come straight to church. He said, that's commitment and he likes that =)

I have just over a week before my trip =) Looking forward to my trip =)

Juno

I had the priviledge to watch a movie preview from a work mate =) Sometimes it is handy to have friends in high places =P Before we watched the movie we had dinner at Sushi Train. Yum =) The movie was called Juno. It was a good movie. It was classified as a comedy. You could describe it as dry humour. So if you appreciate off-centre humour, this movie is for you =)

Faced with an unplanned pregnancy, an offbeat young woman makes an unusual and bizarre decision regarding her unborn child. Apparently the movie is a korean remake. So I heard and been told =P Well I did look it up and yes it is based on a korean movie.

The image “http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/7145/photo27657oydz4.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

Jeni , Juno is a drama based on what is becoming a serious trouble in Korean society. While the main characters in Jeni, Juno are not as bad as the real ones in society, the movie tries to reflect the issue with more light-hearted way.

Jeni and Juno are 15 years old. And they are an official couple that every student knows in their school. They really do get along well and very close, close enough to have sexual relationship apparently. One day, Jeni takes pregnancy test and it is positive! Jeni panics at first but calms down rather fast and tells Juno about the baby. Despite of the problem, Jeni and Juno are still bright and positive. They wanted to protect the baby and the only way to do so was hide the fact from everyone else, even from their parents. Their secretive life begins like that..

The actress Ellen Page is so pretty. I think she is a cutie =)

Well get to see another movie for free this Wednesday. Can't wait =)

Relaxing time

Today was my first time voting for the Federal Election since I moved to Sydney. It took awhile to vote as I needed to line up to get inside and to get the necessary paperwork. Once you are in, it went really quick.

Those who know me well, I like to do some walking, looking and trying stuff =) I did try some stuff at Cue which I couldn't resist... You know sales assistants keep giving you stuff to try on. There were some things I like but I can't buy just yet. I think I will wait til sale time to get the stuff. There are so many things I want to get. I resisted =) My weaknesses at the moment are shoes =(

I headed to Paddington and had a little walk there and looked at the stores. I found one store that had nice pretty dresses but a bit expensive for me... I went into MAC to have a look at the make up and I saw Jade Macrae, the RnB singer. She is a natural beauty. Beautiful without make-up and dressed casually. I briefly went into the Paddington market. I didn't buy anything... I prefer Glebe market now =) I did buy shoes which I had been eyeing for awhile and as a bonus it was on sale =) There are cute gold flats. So cute. Next time when I need new clothes I will be definitely going to Paddington =)

As I headed back home, I was so exhausted from my walk. Didn't realised how much walking I did today. It was good exercise for me and a chance for me to by on my own and relax =)

Feeling weary

These last few weeks, I have been feeling run down and seem to be losing the battle and not thinking straight. I feel I am not seeing the light at the end of the tunnel =(

I served at the 11.30am service and helping out with events =) Was a little bit hectic but it was good =) I sat in the service but when I help out, I can never concentrate and worship Him so I attended the 5pm service. I am glad I did tonight. This weekend was all about "The Big Weekend"

These last few weeks I have been feeling rundown and seem to lose the spark to do things these days. I don't want to feel like this anymore. It's not right as I want to be an example wherever I go =) I really felt the Holy Spirit talking to me tonight and encouraging me to hang in there and to never give up and God has something greater in store for me. Just need to remain positive and to trust Him with all my worries and stresses.

I am grateful and blessed to be surrounded by beautiful people. I am grateful to:

~My family
~My connect group leader and group (If it hadn't been my CG leader, I wouldn't have started serving, so I am thankful for that =)
~My events team =)
~Beautiful church friends
~Miss Anita
~Koko Nick
~Johnny, my brother

I just wanted to say thank you for all your prayers, thoughts and encouragements for the past few weeks. I really appreciate. You made my day!

Have a blessed week. GBU. *Kiss kiss*

Escaping to dreamland

Lately I have been feeling run down and been cursing bad words which is not like me. I usually try to keep it altogether. I guess this is my stormy season at the moment. All I know is I can get through it. God is on my side and anything is possible through Him!

I just moved to a new apartment but still in the same building so I didn't move that far hehehe. My new room is bigger and the wardrobe is bigger too =) I haven't really had a chance to talk my new flatmates. I don't why I have this feeling that this new place doesn't really feel homey to me. Maybe because I am still new...

I woke up late yesterday for church and since I have started serving at church, I missed the church meeting. I woke up 10am and no way would I have made it to the meeting and since I take my time to get ready so I didn't go. I rather not go and be late. These things I like to be early and prepared. I wasn't any of them. I felt guilty. I couldn't see team leader at the service so I will have to explain next week... Hopefully my team won't be disappointed.

While we were waiting for the bus back to central guess who we saw? Guy Sebastian. Of course he was wearing sunnies but I could it was him =P I whispered to Anita that's Guy Sebastian and she just smiled =) I got all excited seeing Guy =)

Hairspray

"You can't stop the beat."

http://www.aolcdn.com/moviefeatures/hairspray-poster-425

I had been dying to watch this movie and finally I did with Miss Anita =)

The movie was so good! I felt like singing and dancing in the cinema hehehe.

Tracy Turnblad, an overweight teenager with all the right moves, is obsessed with the Corny Collins Show. Every day after school, she and her best friend Penny run home to watch the show and drool over the hot Link Larkin, much to Tracy's mother Edna's dismay. After one of the stars of the show leaves, Corny Collins holds auditions to see who will be the next person on the Corny Collins show. With all of the help of her friend Seaweed, Tracy makes it on the show, angering the evil dance queen Amber Von Tussle and her mother Velma. Tracy then decides that it's not fair that the black kids can only dance on the Corny Collins Show once a month, and with the help of Seaweed, Link, Penny, Motormouth Maybelle, her father and Edna, she's going to integrate the show.....without denting her 'do! Written by leoprez1030

What was good about this movie was it was protraying the racial differences between white and black people. There was still segration and no equality as it was set in the 1960s. There was one girl in particular, Tracy (who was not the norm) and made a stand to create equality for everyone. The songs were so cute too, had good positive messages =)

After watching the movie, now I am in love with Zac Efron.... He is hot for a 20 year old.... I found this picture of him...

Across the Universe

Work this week has been hectic.... Considering it is a Friday night I didn't want to stay in my cave I wanted to be out baby! Anita wanted to go out and watch a movie and dinner. So glad I did out with her! We had kebab beside Scruffy Murphy.... Man, the guy who looked after the cashier, I think was drunk, didn't charge me the right amount. He gave me too much change. Silly man. I told him and he said shhhh...

It was hard for us to decide wha to watch considering I am so out of what movies are in ;)
I was picking movies on the basis of the look of the poster. Man, I am so into my advertising =P I saw this poster and thought this might be a good movie. Am so glad we picked this movie.

http://www.postergeek.com/albums/userpics/poster_across-the-universe.jpg

When the movie starting rolling I was shocked when the actor started singing and I turned to Anita and said I didn't know this was a musical hehehe. As the movie continued, I felt like singing along to The Beatles songs. I have to say I am not really into British guys but the actor was pretty hot hehehe.

I have included the trailer for you to enjoy. Trust me, you are better to watch the movie. My review: 2 thumbs up!

Houdini The Great

Now the perks are kicking in when working for an advertising agency. Our agency was invited to a movie premiere from Star Media Platinum. It was held at Dendy Circular Quay. A bunch of us went there. We weren't sure where it was... Everyone was following me considering I am the wrong person to follow hehehe. There was free food and free alcohol =)

Belinda from Star Media Platinum comes up to us and introduce herself and asked us where we are from and we said we are from HMA and me of course replies and introduce myself. Then she said her sister's name is Davina and was asking how I spell it hehehe. Then she started going on about Muscle and then I said I am from Muscle. What a small world =P

The movie was a documentary of Houdini's life. The movie was called Death Defying Acts. The beginning was interesting, middle part nearly fell asleep and end part was good =).

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/37/HarryHoudini1899.jpg http://thecia.com.au/reviews/d/images/death-defying-acts-poster-0.jpg

We received a free goodie bag and then Belinda walks up to us and said thanks for coming and wants to catch up with me with morning tea =P. Paulie said I am popular hehehe.

Dating Rules

Jenny, my work colleague let me borrow her dvd, The Break-up that she bought today at lunch with me =) The movie is like any romantic story done by Hollywood. Guy gets girl, girl and guy have and good time together then bang BIG FIGHT. I think you get the idea. The movie was alright.... But it made me realised relationships just seem to cause heartache and pain. Come to think about it starting relationships is a big gamble...

The thing that scares me about relationships is that you have to expose yourself and sometimes this may leave you vulnerable.

Before I was excited and looking forward to meeting that special person that compliments me. Ko Nick advised me there is no such thing as the perfect person for me but rather we need to find someone who compliments us. I thought that was an interesting way in finding a future partner =) But now I seem to see relationship in a negative way. This is bad.... Then again we can't have other people's attitudes and what we see sway our thoughts.

When I do find someone who compliments, I will definitely treasure that person with all my heart and shower them with my love, laughter, be supportive and share good and bad times....

Be Part of The Revolution

Revolution is a word that is tossed around easily in our everyday lives. Do we know the meaning of a Revolution or is it simply the trend or the "in thing to do" to be a part of?

Tonight, Joel Houston brought the word and I was intrigued by his word. I felt that God was speaking to me. This is what I have been struggling or you could say my thinking is that one day I will change the world or do something for others is when I am sorted. Meaning, I have my degree and have a good job backed behind me. I need to step away from this thinking and start doing something with what I have in my hands now. I have achieved my degree and have the job I want but what now? I think I am too comfortable and just sitting back. The longer I wait to have everything sorted in my life, the world will have moved on and is left behind. The thing that is holding me back to do great things is that I feel I am not capable to do great things and feel I am not ready for it.

God has destined each and everyone of us to do great things but it is a matter of actually putting my hand and saying,"Yes God, I want to be in a revolution and most importantly be the revolution of yesterday, today and tomorrow." Wouldn't it be great to say to people, I am a part of this cause.

Joel shared wonderful stories of how people, just like you and me can make a difference for the world. We don't need to be heros or celebrities to change the world. I really liked the story about Toms Shoes. Me, coming from an advertising background, I thought the concept was really interesting and a creative way in helping others and putting other people's needs before ourself. Check out the website: http://www.tomsshoes.com

http://www.designverb.com/wp-content/images/2006/11/toms.shoes.jpg
Just one last thought to ponder and reflect on:

"This world demands the qualities of youth: not a time of life but a state of mind, a temper of the will, a quality of imagination, a predominance of courage over timidity, of the appetite for adventure over the love of ease." - Robert Kennedy.

I am putting my hand up and I want to be a part of the revolution for today and tomorrow. I don't know what revolution I want to be a part but all out know is God has something bigger for me instore =)

Christmas around the corner

Wherever you go now, shops have prepared with decorations and Christmas stock. Can't believe Christmas is just 2 months away. When you think about it, it is pretty scary because there is only two more months for 2007. I can't believe this year has gone so fast!

Looks like I have to do a reflection entry for 2007 and I have to do it early as I will be on holidays from 11 December and back to reality on 9 January. I am so pumped for my holiday. My last holiday was in 2001. I am so excited!

I am looking forward to celebrating Christmas this year as it will be special as I will be experiencing my very first White Christmas ever! So excited. This trip is going to be awesome!

I have a feeling in my heart that 2008 will be better, bigger and will go with a big bang for me. I can't explain it but I can't shake this feeling. Hopefully the new year will offer new opportunities both for work and church, have the chance to meet new friends and of course bring on the challenges. I am ready and pumped for any challenges that head my way. Bring it on baby!

Leader of the Pack

Today was a beautiful day, firstly because it is the weekend and it was a great day to be outside. Although Sydney weather can be deceiving, sunny from my balcony and then when you go downstairs, it is windy so you still have to wear a jacket...

Messaged Oppa Kyon hehehe if he wanted to join me to go to the rocks market and bookshop but he said he needed to return Tim's car to Bondi. He asked me if I wanted to go to Bondi Beach. I jumped at the chance to go.... So today was a day adventure outing... We went to Woolloomooloo for Harry's Cafe De Wheels they have the nicest pies and hotdogs, drove to Watson's Bay and then to Bondi Beach. We went to Bondi Beach just for Johnny as this was his first visit =D I accidentially stood on Eastlyn's sandals and it broke =( So sorry Eastlyn....

So we headed to Bondi Junction to find sandals for Eastlyn to wear for the rest of the night. So we headed to General Pants and of course she bought a pair of havinanas. All of us had a chance to look around the store. Now you can get custom colour made havinanas. How cool is that? I saw a really nice pair of shoes I really liked. I will be next time and when its on sale =P

We then had dinner at Ishi boshi at Bondi Junction. I had been dying for Kaarage Chicken Curry. Man, it was soooo good that I ate the whole thing =P

Oppa Kyon and Johnny said if I hadn't messaged this morning we wouldn't have this adventure =) I was told I was the leader of the day =) I am so glad I had the chance to have this outing. It is good to get out of the house and city to enjoy the beautiful places in Sydney.

Your looking at the leader of the pack

Thank you Johnny for the pictures and thank you for coming and your company. Thank you Oppa Kyon for picking me up and driving us around the beautiful places =)

Outing for the Weekend

On Saturday morning I headed to Mosman to pick-up my ipod by bus all by myself.... So I organised which bus to take and where to go.... I thought I had this down packed =P I found the bus stop and hopped on the bus and was thinking I knew where to do get off. So I thought I got off at the right spot and was thinking oh the shop is not that far.... Kept walking and could not find the store.... I was all sore from my personal training and could not walk properly, I swear I was walking as if I had something in-between my legs =P (nothing disgusting here ;) So I decided to wait for another bus to pass by and then I hopped again on the bus and then I found the shop.... Went into the store and told the guy I was picking up my ipod so he went inside to find it... Anyway to cut the story short, I had my savings card out ready for payment and he said wait a sec so I said ok, then he said it was under warranty... I was thinking sweet!!!! I love a freebie =)

I caught up with Miss Anita and we did our weekly grocery shopping at Paddy's as our food supplies had been finished for the week.

That night I was invited to a korean church and that was an experience. Everyone tries to talk to me Korean.... It was interesting to visit. Nearly fell asleep not because it was boring but I just couldn't understand one word....

That was my weekend =)

The Perfect Fit

I am still floating from my experience from the Encounterfest...

Judah Smith preached at the 11.30am service. I think I am falling in love hehehe. He is sooo cool and super nice =)

Matthew 11-28-30
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

When Judah read the verse, I was thinking what is a yoke? He did explain what it was but I decided to look it up on good old trusty Wikipedia.

A bow yoke is a shaped wooden crosspiece bound to the necks of a pair of oxen, or occasionally horses. It is held on the animals' necks by an oxbow, usually U-shaped, that also transmits force from the animals' shoulders, hence the name bow yoke. A swivel beneath the centre of the yoke, between the animals, attaches the pole of the vehicle (when the animals steer the vehicle) or chains that are used to drag the load.

A head yoke is a yoke which fits onto the head of the oxen and has carved out sections which the horns fit into. The yoke is then strapped to the head of the oxen with yoke straps and ox pads for cushioning on the oxen's foreheads. The yoke is held on in that manner, it does not rest on their necks. A tug pole is held to the bottom of the yoke using yoke irons and chains. The tug pole can either be a short pole with a chain attached for hauling or can be a long pole with a hook on the end that has no chain at all. Sometimes the pole is attached to a wagon and the oxen are simply backed over this pole, the pole is then raised between them and a backing bolt is dropped into the chains on the yoke irons in order to haul the wagon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yoke)

Although both yokes are effective a bow yoke needs far less maintenance sin

ce a head yoke needs to be constantly shaped to fit the animals' horns. However a head yoke is better for teaching animals to stand quietly and avoid fighting because they cannot move their heads around freely.

The image “http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/07/Zugochsen.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

Judah's message was basically illustrating that with Jesus we are custom-made yoke, perfectly fit just for me. As our relationship with God fits perfectly for each individual as he created us in His image and unique.

Jesus' yoke is comfortable, powerful, mighty, compassionate, loving for everyone who accept His love.

In order to fulfill our destiny/role/responsibility we are an original as this is a key to understanding our identity. We need to be comfortable with ourself with Christ as we become more receptive in welcoming people in the House of the God and this will enable us to reach more people.

Sometimes, we as Christian may shop in different places to find our identity until we find that "perfect fit." In order to find out what we are good at we need to try different things until we find something we are good and excel at. Once we have found that identity key we should do it the very best to glorify Him.

Once we have found that perfectly fit jacket we should buy a matching hat and wear it well!

Encounterfest 07 continued

When people said that Encounterfest is something for you need to experience I didn't believe until I am writing my entries. It is hard to describe my experience. It was my first time going and you could say it changed me... for the better....

http://www.therebelution.com/blog/images/zach_hunter_header.png

It was interesting to hear about Zach Hunter's cause. End Slavery Now. When 15 year-old Zach Hunter learned that millions of people around the world are slaves, he knew he had to do something. He started a fundraising campaign called "Loose Change to Loosen Chains" and collected nearly $10, 000. The funds were donated to the International Justice Mission to rescue victims of slavery and other forms of oppression. Today, his campaign is a national ministry. by Jeremy V. Jones.

It is amazing to hear younger generations and being passionate about a cause.

This whole Encounterfest has had me thinking that just because your young doesn't limit what you can do. The mentality I had was someday when I have a job, degree and money I can do something for God. Now that I have achieved completing my degree, have a job and have regular income, I need to step up and do something even if it is small steps... As humble beginnings turn to big things...

Maybe because I was affected by the craziness of Encounterfest but I had the courage to ask for a photo with Zach and Judah. At first I got really nervous asking Zach but then I thought heck, I am going to ask what do I have to lose? With Judah it was easier, I went up to him and introduce myself and Melany hehehe and asked him if we can have a picture with him. He is soooo nice and said nice to meet you. That night I couldn't go to sleep and I was floating on cloud 9 hehehe. I just need to wait for Melany to share the pictures so I can show you the evidence =P What a good note to end an awesome weekend!

Thank you Melany for the pictures! You are a gem! Love yah!!!

Encounterfest 07

Encounterfest is not just an event: We seek God in our lives and in our generation. Three days to stand united. To encounter Him, to be changed and be the change. This is exactly how I felt and what I experienced over the 2 days I was at the Encounterfest. I went part-time because I couldn't take time work but thank God I was able to go part-time. Boy, this is an experience I will not forget and how can I forget the incredible teachings from Judah Smith and hearing Zach Hunter's cause of abolishing slavery in today's world. Was really touched by his passion for his cause.

What is your point? - Judah Smith, 5 October 2007
Genesis 15:1
After this, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision: "Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward."
Psalm 147:4
He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name.

God wants to shatter our point-of-view. As our point-of-view is limited or you could describe it as tunnel vision. We need to see our point-of-view just like God's point-of-view.

Genesis 15 is a significant chapter in the bible. Why? As this chapter illustrate faith and shows a man, Abram, having God's point-of-view instilled in him.

Genesis 15:5 He took him outside and said, "Look up at the heavens and count the stars - if indeed you can count them." Then he said to him, "So shall your offspring be."

We need to look now! God desires men and women to Him. The stars are our destiny. He has a high perspective than ours. That what makes Him so mighty! To man some things are impossible but to God anything is possible if we trust and believe Him! Amen.

Genesis 15 is for us and illustrates our destiny plan.

Judah had a tent on the stage to illustrate his message and stated "I want out of my tent!" Meaning we should not rely on ourself for things to him and to see it at God's point-of-view. Just like Abram, we should believe and credit God as our righteousness.

Summer Has Officially Landed

Today was a beautiful and sweet day because it was a public holiday. I had the opportunity to sleep in and just laze about the house hehehe.

Temperature is heating up and I mean heating up. Summer has officially landed. It was so hot today. I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt, reminds me of Brisbane weather hehehe.

I had yum cha for lunch with Anita and her flatmates =) Boy, did I eat alot hehehe. Isn't it amazing that the chinese have the best service. Yes, I am being sarcastic here.... After our pig out, we briefly visited Benny as Anita need to pick up her swim suit. We then headed to Kinokuniya to check out some books =) I can never get bored of that place. I could easily stay there for 1 hour and can never be bored. Too bad the books are expensive =( We then headed to Woolies to do more grocery shopping. I didn't expect that Woolies to be cheaper than coles.... Looks like I will be visiting Woolies more often now =D

Can't believe it is October already.... Where did the year go? Gosh....

Fantasy Wonderland

Lately my blog entries have been pretty boring and you could say nothing of substance to write about. Or maybe because I have been busy being a dream chaser stuck in a fantasy wonderland =P

Last night, I caught up with Benny over dinner and we decided to watch Stardust. Benny convinced me to watch it. I hesitated to watch the movie because of the trailer. You could say the trailer didn't entice me to watch the movie. But after hearing Benny's friends raving on the movie, I thought why not. The verdict of the movie: 2 thumbs up for me =) I have to admit it was pretty good. The storyline was a mixture of fantasy, comedy, adventure and of course love. I think anyone who watches the movie can relate to the movie =) I am in love with the theme song =) Just thought I would share you the clip =)

The church message was inspirational today for me. The message was about taking the long way home and that we as Christians should embrace the endurance and persevere in our journey in life. The message touched me as sometimes I want to take the easy way out or the short cut to my destination or simply complain about the moment. Now I will appreciate the moment and will treat it as a stepping stone for something better for my future glory.

After church today, I went over Anita's place and had looked at her work in progress for her major project. Man, just flicking through her rough concepts and illustrations so cool and very creative. I can't wait to see the final product. Good luck for your project and I hope you can make the deadline =)

Spring Fever

The days in September seem to be colder and windy for spring. You would think we would experience warmer days... I can't believe September is almost over. The days seem to go by so quick!

Yesterday was a quiet one not an adventurous weekend. I went to Paddy's and Broadway in the afternoon with Miss Anita as she came over to use the gym in my complex. Bought some fruit and headed to Broadway as I was craving for scones and yogurt at Harry's. Since both of us didn't want to carry our shopping we took the trolley from Broadway to Anita's place. A word of advice: trolleys are not designed for foot paths. It was a bumpy ride and skill is required to take it home =P Hey, I consider this my adventure for the weekend or you could say the highlight hehehe.

Wedding celebrations

I was invited to Pris and Steffan's wedding today at BOC. I was told that the wedding was organised at short noticed. The reason is that the couple are planning to have the wedding in Indonesia. But I was glad they had a service in Sydney for me to attend. I don't know the couple that well compared to others but it was a privileged to witness their special day =) The service was so emotional especially when it came to the vows part. It was was touching. You could feel the love in the room =)

nice and After the wedding celebrations, Pris and Steffan dropped myself and Anita to Newtown. Finally, I could explore Newtown. Newtown is awesome! I love walking and checking the retro and vintage shops =) We dropped by this shirty07 market. Lot's of t-shirts but very expensive. The only I managed to take was the free brochures =P I bought this really nice hand cream that smells so nice =) I even tried Indian food, which was soooo nice and peanut butter and cherry ripe gelati which was soooo good. I could visit Newtown again and can never be sick of it. The next city I want to visit is Glebe =) I heard there are nice shops to visit =)

As Anita and I were walking to the bus stop to get back to the city, we past this printing place and we opened the door to see if it was opened and there were 2 men inside doing some jobs. Anita was interested to know about their printing services for her major project. Turns out this query lasted for 1 hour. Gosh this old man was going on and on about printing. Very interesting and crazy man at the same time. But I learnt alot from the conversation hehehe. Very educational. By the end of the 1 hour query, my legs were dying and trying to be patient too. This situation taught me to be patient =)

This day was a very eventful day for me =) But it was worth it =) Thanks Anita for being my tour guide and showing me around Newtown =D

Goal Achievable?

In my last post, I set myself a new goal which was to do no more spending until the end of this year. So far so good. I haven't bought any clothes or shoes of late which is an achievement for me =) For those who know me well, I am a shopaholic to the core =P. Even though I pass shops to and from work you would think I would get tempted but I just go in and look a.k.a browse as you would say to the sales assistant. Sometimes I would try the clothes but never satisfied with the clothes maybe because in the back of my mind, I need to save my money or the guilt if I keep spending. This feeling is working as I haven't really spent my money.

Well I am on my way in achieving my goal. Feeling proud of myself =) Being tight now will be worth it when I am on my holiday =D

Just have to take baby steps.... One step at a time =)

Back to Reality

Ahhh my trip to Brisbane was a very short one but refreshing at the same time. I feel that my batteries have been recharged again =) It was good to meet up and spend time with family and friends. Although I couldn't meet up with some people as I was only there for the weekend. Maybe next time I will catch up with my other friends. At times you appreciate that some things never change. I had the chance to play with my niece. She is so cute =) I managed to take some pictures of her.

Now it is back to business. From this point forward it will be pretty much work, work and more work until the end of this year for my 3 week holiday in Europe. I have to plan for that soon. Make sure everything is organised. No more spending, pretty much have to stick to a strict budget. Will ask for God's gudiance for my finaces so I am able to have the funds =) To stop myself from wasting my money on unnecessary things I will try to keep myself busy by reading books, learn to draw, learn to cook new dishes hehe. Will keep you updated with the progress of my new savings plan hehehe ;)

No Place Like Home

I arrived yesterday afternoon to Brisbane. Every time I return to Brisbane to visit, I feel right at home. Very comfortable with the surroundings and it is great to be surrounded with the family just like old times. You could say some things never change, which is a good thing ;) Because I am here for the weekend it is hard to decide what to do here... But all I know is I will be eating as if there is no tomorrow ;) I have been saving myself for this trip hehehe. Dying to eat tort chips, pearl tea, crepes at Sunnybank, top noodle and the list is endless hehehe.

Sometimes, I wonder why I left Brisbane in the first place. Not that I am regretting my decision to work and live in Sydney but I guess I am pondering what would have happened if I had stayed in Brisbane. The transition to Sydney has taught me many things. You could say I am not the same person when I left Brisbane. But then again I shouldn't think what if, as I need to thing positive in all the decisions I make in my life and to learn from it.

Who knows what the future holds for me, as I could return back to Brisbane =) But I all know God knows the plan and I have to trust Him to lead my path.

Nothing beats being back at home =)

Waiting for a Breakthrough

Lately, I have been inspired to do great things and to be more involved with church (with the help of my Connect Group Leader). Today I was given some material and start talking to new people :) I did do that at my old church but at Hillsong it is more daunting maybe because there is more people. But I will try this out and see how I go :) Also Selvy introduced me to the person who looks after the Events section of the church. The person in charge wasn't there but I left my details =)

When I went up with Selvy to go upstairs apparently there were 2 members from Switchfoot. I like their music but I don't know what they look like hehehe. She got really excited :)

The message was really good tonight =) Simple message but had substance and impact to it =)

Also today is Father's Day. Wishing all the dads a Happy Father's Day =) Thanks Dad for everything! Thank you for being patient, the mediator, teaching me to drive hehe and just being you! Love you =)

Walking Journey

Today finally went to Mosman to try to get my ipod fixed. Turns out it is the battery and they are going to swap the unit. It is going to cost me $120. That's not too bad considering I was told it was my hard drive and that would have cost me $209. While I was in Mosman, I had a look around the markets =) so cool.

Went back home and Miss Anita called me and invited to go out shopping =) Well I didn't buy anything. I am very proud of myself =) The only thing I bought was fruit salad and food stuff for our dinner =) Miss Anita wanted to buy boots. Boy, you could say we circled the whole city to find the perfect boot for her! But I enjoyed the walks as we stopped by cute stores on the way and picked up free catalogues and playing cards =) After we bought her boot, we bought the next important thing, FOOD FOR DINNER =) Now that was an experience!

Because we decided to buy food stuff around 5pm we weren't sure Paddy's was opened still. So we checked it out and yes it was still opened. Man, it was crazy. Shop owners were discounting vegetables and fruit. You could say we grabbed some bargins =) I wanted to check the price of garlic and it was $1.20 and I walked away and the man shouted at me, "Where are you going?" So I felt guilty and bought the garlic from him.

So we got all our food items and then headed back to Miss Anita's place and prepared dinner =) So nice. The soup was soooo tasty =) While eating dessert (which we had ice cream and mandarins which was soooo sweet =),

I watched Ratatouille, the movie was so funny and cute =)

It was good to get out of the house and enjoy my day with friend's company. Thank you Anita for the invite =) Thank you to Kyon for taking me to Mosman =)

It Is My Time to Step Up!

On Wednesday nights I usually go to Powerhouse. Lately, I have been going regularly. God has been stirring my heart for me to go. These last few weeks I have enjoyed going there. Also these last few weeks at church I feel talk is talking to me about serving in church. The message themes has been around serving, stepping up to the next level and finding our significance in our Christian walk.

All the messages have been really good =) and now it is time for me to actually step up and do something =) I did share it last night at Connect Group and my Connect Group Leader will point me in the right person to help me as I am interested in doing Event and maybe Graphic Design. Although Shinta told me to do TV, I will end breaking it hehe. We'll see how it goes first =)

Just a final thought for you to ponder on "Do not let a bad relationship drag you down."

Lunar Eclipse

Tonight was pretty exciting with a total lunar eclipse, with the moon turning blood red =) I saw it while I was at Selvy's place for connect group. At one stage, I thought the moon looked purple but maybe because we were in the city =P

For this lunar eclipse to happen The Earth, Sun and Moon has to be in perfect alignment. The last time it happened was in July 2000. This was visible anywhere in Australia. How cool is that?

The eclipse happened around 7pm, with the moon totally blacked out by 7.50pm. It was a pretty cool view to see =)

Apparently, I've been told that the next total lunar eclipse will happen in 2011. Who knows where I will be in 2011?

Thanks Benny for the picture. Even though this picture of the moon is not red but I liked it so much that I asked Benny for a copy =)

My First Soju Experience

Last night, I tried soju for the first time with a bunch of korean guys and one other korean girl. Of course with Asian style we ordered soup and of course with side dishes. I was so full last night =) But it was a good experience, I got to meet new people hehehe and of course it was Koreans =)

The people were really nice and were interested wanting to get to know me hehehe. I had a good chat with Kyon hehehe. He was telling me about his life experience and I was interested with his stories hehehe.

People would warn me that being attracted to Korean guys is a bad thing. Maybe its because the way they are portrayed in the dramas. I think it is best not to listen and believe everything we see now. I think it is best to have an open mind and be empathic towards people we meet in our lives. But at the same time be careful in who we hang out with.

Now I am looking forward to my next soju experience without the drinking games involved =P Drinking games can get a little crazy ;)

Embarrassing Moment

Usually on Thursday nights (well not too often) I like to walk around the city and check out the shops. I have been good lately I haven't really bought anything (in terms of new clothing, as those who know me really know me well, I tend to go overboard with new clothing). But I came across this cute top at Giordano and it was cheap $40 (for me hehehe).

So I was looking for my size S but couldn't find it, the shop assistant comes up to me (you the usual line, Can I help you?). I asked him they had S in the purple colour, but the only S was on the model. I told him I will try the M first. Tried it on. Was too big. So the second option was to try the top in S in black first if I liked it and then he would get the top for me off the model, the colour I wanted.

I tried it on and it look cute. Its one of those top you need to wear a singlet underneath. Told the guy it fit and then he got the top off the model the colour I wanted. Was so nice =)

This bit was good as gold =P

So when I wanted to pay for the 2 tops on eftpos it kept coming as canceled =( Looked like an idiot.
So I just said I will get the purple top for now. Then the sales assistant offered to lend me $25 for the singlet. Was so embarrassed. But I think he was kinda flirting with me.

I bet when I go into the store again he will remember me as the girl with no money in her account *looking embarrassed*

Picture Just For Me

Last week, I was sharing my pics from Blue Mountains with my koko. Then he complimented that I look nice with my hair down and that I look like more like a lady hehehe.

After sharing my pics, I asked nicely to my koko to draw my picture.

While waiting for my picture, I was chatting with my other friends, cleaning my room, and preparing to go to sleep hehehe.

Anyway just wanted to say thank you for the picture and let you know you are a talented graphic designer =)

Blue Mountains

I went to the Blue Mountains Friday night by train, took 2 hours train ride (which went really quick) went with a group of girls and guys =) We arrived at Katoomba station around 8.30pm. Man, as soon as we stepped onto the platform it was freakin' cold. Boy the wind was so strong.

I stayed at the YMCA not far from the Katoomba station. The place was alright considering we only had to pay $35 for the night. Watched a bit of Happy Feet but was soooo sleepy for some reason so I went to bed around 11pm (man I sound like an old nana hehehe). While everyone else was still up to the wee hours of the morning.

The next day we went bush walking to see the 3 sisters. The bush walking took us 2 hours. So tiring. I am surprised I survived. Man my legs are so sore, I can't even bend down properly. But the walk was worth it. After, the long walk we could catch the express vertical train back to the top. It was so cool =).

Since I was the only one with the license out of the group, I drove from the Blue Mountains to the city. Man that was a challenge for me since the last time I drove was in April when I went back to Brisbane. But it was all good. Thank God we arrived safely back to the city.

After our adventurous trip to the Blue Mountains we had dinner at Tony Romas (I think, forgot the name hehehe) for my Connect Group Leader's Farewell Party. The ribs were ok but personally I prefer Hurricane's =) the ribs there are so tasty hehehe.

By the end of the night, I was stuffed and dying. You could say that the weekend was a jammed packed one but overall I did have fun. Made some new friends =)

Korean mania

For those who know me really well, I am crazy over anything Korean hehehe.

Last week, I had strange encounters with Koreans.

One was when one Korean guy asked me directions to the Opera House after work so I told him the directions.

Second was when I went swimming in my complex (well actually I was in the spa) the guy just said Hi and so I turned to the guy and responded and then he started asking 20 questions to me. Very strange.

Then that same night I meet a Korean Canadian but this guy was normal hehehe. Kinda cute in my opinion hehehe. Really nice guy =) And the bonus part is he is a Christian =) I didn't get to see him on Sunday at church but I might see him at Powerhouse this Wednesday night. Funny and crazy guy hehehe. He admitted that he has a collection of Korean Drama was a bit shocked hehehe but hey I have another source for Korean dramas and movies for free ;) I am all up for free stuff!

Aroma Festival

Today I went to the Aroma Festival on The Rocks. This is a haven for anyone who loves their coffee, tea and ch
ocolate. The place was packed with people...

When I got there, I tried a sample of the mint rocky road. The chocolate was too much for me that I couldn't eat the whole thing! So ended up throwing it out =(.

I tried soy chai latte, vanilla honey and club cinnamon bondi chai. I liked it so much that I bought two packets of one of each. I am hooked on chai latte more =)

I tried this turkish pastry that the queue was so long, it took me 20 minutes to wait for this pastry. But it was worth it =) Very tasty...

I roamed around The Rocks market. Next time I might buy some stuff there =)

I really enjoyed myself at the festival =)

Complaint For The Day

Considering I haven't exercised for awhile. I thought I would start today =). So I went for a swim and then relax by using the spa. Boy my body is so stiff...

I went back to my place to have a shower like any normal person would do after exercising =P I got into the shower there was no hot water. Then I just remembered I saw last night there was a notice in the lift advising residents that there was no hot water due to some issue with the boiler. That would be right, I was thinking it was fixed. There I was standing there, naked and freezing my butt off. Usually I don't curse but what would you do in this instance? I was thinking F*&k considering it was freezing cold.

I just thought I would get this pet peeve out of my system and the best way is to write about it and then I will get over it....

Unexpected Behaviour

When both your flatmates are out of the country for 2 weeks and been staying at home and have no one to talk to for the last week, feeling bored out of my brains. So I called my friend to have dinner and walk around the shops as it was Thursday night shopping.

I bought the Justin Timberland CD as it was on sale at Myer hehehe. Listen to the CD its pretty cool with tunes that you can dance around and ballads to slow it down.

As my friend and I were looking around the shops, there was this game I wanted for my Nintendo DS Lite. I was looking at it and pondering or not to buy it. I just said I will get it with my next pay cheque so I put the game back on the shelf where it belong =P

So my friend ended up buying the Transformers game and turned out he bought the game for me as I was a bit shocked and got annoyed that he bought it for me. Talk about expecting the unexpected.

Not that I am not grateful but not use to guys buying me stuff.... You could say this is my dilemma for the week. I will eventually get over it =)

A New Change for the Better

Today was my first day in starting my new job after months of looking for a new job. Towards the end of my old job I felt management was not that supportive and I dreaded each morning going to work. Supervising someone who didn't listen to your instructions and had a bad attitude, well you could say I had enough. I didn't want to feel that way anymore.

Just comparing the two companies and roles, they are completely different. The culture of the company is far more relaxed, everyone is really friendly and it is less structured. The first day is, so far so good =) Just keeping an open mind and trying not to make too much comparisons as it is still early days.

Really happy where my office is as it overlooks the Darling Harbour, I have a really cool workstation (I get to use a mac at work =), get free coffee and toast in the morning and there is a free bar on Thursday and Fridays. What more could you ask?

Looking forward to what lies ahead for this new role, new company and colleagues =)

Realistic Expectations

I was chatting with my closest girl friend as as all girls we share what's new and our worries. I showed my friend a picture of a guy I liked. The interesting thing she said was this particular guy I liked is not the type of guy you would see on the street and I needed to have realistic expectations. I think she had a good point. I tend to be attracted to guys who are "pretty boys." I think its time for me to be realistic! There is no such thing as the perfect guy out there. We wish!

This got me thinking, my Connect Group Leader did raise that we should pray for God to lead us to our other half. Also my friend said I should write a list in the characteristics of my future partner as this is will keep me on track and not be swayed by emotions and end up being hurt. His way seemed a bit extreme to me personally but I thought I would just compile a very short list.

My better half should be:

1. Be a servant of God and to have a servant heart.
2. To work together in reaching our goals and dreams.
3. To trust each other in both good and bad times.
4. To support and encourage one another in achieving our dreams.
5. And of course enjoy each other company...

This is hard making up a list. I mean the more we write down the points we are after.... Is there a person that exists with "our ideals." For me, I don't believe it. No matter how hard we stick to "our list" we end up with someone different to our list. Maybe the key is to finding our ideal partner is all about investing our time in getting to know the person and see how compatible we are with that person. I believe love needs nurture, invested time and trust to turn into L-O-V-E.

Now I am sounding very sentimental now. This is turning into a deep and meaningful moments. I better leave it for now before I get carried away.

Expecting Greater Things

Well late last week, I gave my resignation notice to my current workplace as I was offered a job at George & Patterson as I have been really stressed out at my current job. I prayed to God whether I made the right choice in moving to Sydney and even thought of going back to Brisbane. As always God answered my prayers and directed my path. It really does come down to having faith and trusting in Him and He will deliver according to His will if we just believe.

I just received a message from one of my good uni friend and she will be visiting this weekend. This weekend will be full on, one, my mum's friend is coming too so I will meet up with her and my friend, second, I am going to the Hillsong Conference Friday night so I will probably come home late really looking forward to the conference.

I am looking forward to this weekend =) just have to made through another week hehehe.

Winter Blues

I have always looked forward to winter arriving as you can wear really nice coats, funky boots, layer really cool clothes and eat warm food and drink hot chocolate =)

But since I have to moved to Sydney, the winter here has been soooo cold. You could say the winter has hit me hard. My friend told me that this year the winter in Sydney is colder than last year. That would be right. But I guess it is good training for me as I am planning to go to Europe and the winter there will be freezing hehehe.

Although the weather hasn't been terribly great these last few weeks with constant rain and very windy and trust me bringing an umbrella in these situations is pointless as your umbrella will turn inside out. My motto in these situations, Don't fight the rain, just run for your life hehehe.

Hopefully the weather will clear up these next few weeks as I will be expecting some visitors from Brisbane =) Will be doing alot of catching up hehehe. These situations I will definitely bring my camera. So stay tuned for some lovely pics of my friends =)

Battling my sickness

These last three weeks I have been fighting and battling my cold/flu and to top it off my constant coughing is not disappearing. Being sick does certainly messes with your mind. I have never experienced being this sick to the point I have lost 2kgs. Crazy man...

Today I needed to buy some few supplies so I headed to Market City as I was walking there this punk driving really fast and didn't bother to slow down. It's not like he saw me walking. But it was strange, in these cases I would curse the person but I didn't even do that. Maybe I have changed to a tolerent and patient person :)

Considering it is a long weekend, I can't really do much because one I need to rest up and the weather is not that great. Raining, cold and windy at the same time. Looks like my weekend will be indoors watching my korean series and staring at Rain hehehe.

New Life

Well it has been 5 months since my last entry... Geesh time flies so quick!

2007 has been a whirlwind experience for me both personally, spiritually and mentally.

Reflecting what has happened to me so far for 2007
  1. I am working and living in Sydney at Val Morgan as the Production Co-ordinator
  2. Living in the city, yeah baby!
  3. Learning to live with other people besides family
  4. Meeting new people and making new friends
  5. Attending Hillsong Church
  6. Visiting nice shops, places and clubs in Sydney
  7. Was able to purchase my baby, MacBook
  8. Learning to be more independent with house work and financially
  9. Learning day-by-day to be more tolerant and patient with people
  10. Have attended cool parties
  11. The list is endless!
This new life has had it's fair share of both the good and bad. But I am taking on board both the good and bad.
I have learnt alot these last few months of myself especially and spiritually. You could say I have grown up these last few months.

Well I better leave my reflection for now and keep you updated with photos and my entries.
